Fireworks!!!

Friday was a full run through with the orchestra for Oliver! They only had to stop a few times to wait for the set people or start the song over when a cue was missed, but overall the play looks great. I recorded some of the play on my flip video but it is a little difficult to watch because it is so far away from the stage and the sound isn't very good quality, but if you want to get a general idea of what the play might be like, here are the links:  http://youtu.be/DPudmjQYxVE, We only have one more dress rehearsal before opening night before the whole family comes to watch what a little star we have in our house. After Jace sang his first song, Amanda leaned over to me and said, "You must be a very proud mother." I am. The debut for Sierra's play is the 8th of July and we can hardly wait to see her too. Such talented little kids in the fam:) Sierra likes her costumes for her play, they are all cute. Jace isn't really fond of his South Pacific high-waisted Hawaiian shorts with a white Sunday shirt tucked into them and white knee socks with white keds. He feels kind of nerdy but that's what D.J., Chad and Benjamin used to wear when they were little (minus the socks). Those high-waisted shorts were in, but now the saggy, show-your-boxer kind of pants are the rage.
So while Jace was at practice, we made treats to eat while we watched fireworks. We had rice krispie treats and capri suns, plus a bunch of other junk. One thing I like about Amanda staying here is that she cooks for us. I didn't even ask her to make dinner and she made us some yummy chicken stroganoff. We took some down to Jace and his friend Cameron while they were at practice. They had to go at 5:00 and we weren't quite finished with it by the time they left. Cameron and Brennen (his brother) came over to play during the day with Jace and Olivia. Kazlie (Cameron's sister) invited Sierra to go to her house to hang out before the fireworks. I really love this family and the kids seem to all get along really well. We are having a bbq with them for the fourth of July. Hopefully Dave and Hannah will make it up here to spend the holiday with the family. Hannah has a job interview on Tuesday so she can't stay long.
The director released all of the boys at 10:00 so they could go see the fireworks. Thankfully the show didn't start til about 10:15 so they were able to see the whole thing. The Conrad's put out blankets on a field right by the fireworks, so we had a perfect spot to watch the colorful sky. It was a pretty impressive show!
