So I learned how to upload videos to the blog in a faster way tonight. Sorry it took so long to get these videos on but I could not figure out how to get them on youtube but a smart teenager showed me how to do it:) I can't remember what we've done exactly but I know we went to a car show on Main Street in Logan on Saturday night. Sunday we went to church and then went to a singing program at the college under the shade trees to listen to Vanessa Schukis, one of the women in the opera here. She sings with a grouchy voice in Oliver and when we listened to her sing spiritual songs, she sounded beautiful. During the last number when the crowd was listening to a quartet singing a fabulous number, Maci started screaming her head off and running toward me yelling, “Mommy! Mommy!!”. She was being bitten by something and so I lifted her shirt up and brushed away a big black ant. It had bitten her twice and I was worried that there may be more ants so I walked a little distance away from the crowd to lift up her shirt. Poor thing! I felt so bad for her and at the same time I was embarrassed that she was so loud during the final number. That will be the last time that I take kids to the Sunday singing on the grass.
Today (July 4th) Jace went golfing with Cameron, Brennan, Braxton, and Justin Conrad. It was his first time and he had a great time with his friends. The girls all went to an art class that Janet Rouse volunteered to teach them. They are going to her house everyday for the whole week to learn watercolors, chalk, leaf rubbings, drawing and origami, along with some other things. They came home with a new sketch pad and water colors today to practice with. They spent part of the afternoon painting.
I cooked food for the barbecue that we had tonight at the Conrad's. We had these hamburgers that sound really strange, but actually taste fabulous. They had: (are you ready for this?) toasted bun, hamburger patty, cheese, grilled pineapple slice, sliced beets, lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard, fried egg, bacon and avocado. They were impossible to eat without making a mess but so yummy! I don't know if I can eat a burger without beets or eggs again. In addition to the Conrad's, Jessica and Michael Medoff (Nancy in Oliver) came over, along with Laura Quest (Mrs. Sowerberry in Oliver) and we played Just Dance with them. They were interesting to talk with. Afterwards, the kids watched movies in the downstairs theater while Braxton showed me how to do the videos on my computer and then we lit some fireworks outside and got home too late. The kids didn't get in bed til about 11:30 and Jace has a 9:00 call in the morning for Oliver. Hope everyone sleeps soundly and is well rested tomorrow. We might need a nap:)
