Off and Running

The heater and the water heater were both fixed this morning. Hallelujah!
Well today was the first day of practices for Jace and Sierra and WOW! are they going to be busy!! I have become a full-time driver, taxiing them from one rehearsal to another. This is what our first day looked like:
8:00 a.m. Jace had to be at the make-up and wig shop to get ready for a portrait shoot. Someone met him at the door as he arrived to make sure he was where he needed to be at the times he needed to be there.
8:35 a.m. appointment in the costume shop for Jace. His clothes are so cool! Even though I had to send   measurements for him, the clothes we too big and had to be taken in before the photo shoot at nine. They ended up pinning his long sleeves with safety pins, and added some buttonholes to his jacket so it wouldn't just hang on him.
9:00 driver picked him up and drove him across the street to the theater for the photo shoot. Very talented photographer that got Jace and the artful dodger to give her the emotions she was looking for. There were nine adults at the photo shoot and Jace had everyone laughing at his Salcido self-deprecating  humor. He is a good communicator with adults and I felt happy that he was getting along so well with everyone. After the shoot, we headed back to the costume shop to change and take off the layers of make-up they used to make him look dirty.
We came back to the apartment, ate a quick breakfast, and then took Jace and Sierra both to a song practice for South Pacific from 10:30 to 11:30.
2:00-2:30 was another song practice for Jace with Michael Ballam, the artful dodger, Nancy and Bet. This practice went well and Jace sounded great. I saw Michael Ballam look over at the musical director and smile when Jace started singing. I am so proud that he is using his talents and sharing them with others.
4:00-6:00 Oliver's Food Glorious Food song and scene rehearsal. This was a fun practice where the boys learned the staging and singing sequence. There are so many talented people working with all of these little boys and in such a positive way. Even when they wanted them to do things differently, they said it in such a way that the boys still felt like they were doing a great job. It's nice when people love their jobs because that spills over into the attitude they have for those they work with.
After this practice, we got to come home, go for a bike ride, take a drive to the Logan temple, play at another park by the temple and then take a warm shower:) On the way home Sierra and Olivia played too long on the tire swing and got motion sickness and their tummies hurt all the way home and for most of the night. Maci wanted to go longer however :) Everyone was tired from our busy day and went straight to sleep after eating yummy homemade snow cones.
